India played the Super Eight group match of the World Twenty20 against Australia on 28 September 2012 at Colombo. India elected to bat first and was out for 140 runs for 7 wickets. Australia won with 9 wickets in hand.
Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni blamed the rain for his side’s flop show.
Early in the Australian innings, it had rained. “Once the ball got wet, it was very difficult for our spinners”, said Dhoni.
If only he had looked at the satellite image before deciding to bat first!

Well said. A wet ground can dampen a cricket ball, a change of wind direction can veer a tennis ball. Temperature and humidity can lower the performance of athletes and sportspersons. In fact there is a need to develop a whole new branch of sports meteorology.
